Week 1
- Introduction to class web pages
- APA grammar exercise 1
- Look at prior classes final projects abstracts on the web
- Using telnet to access PsycInfo
- Learning to search using PsycInfo on Melvyl
- Information Scavenger hunt using PsycInfo
- Reminder: Have you gone to the library and gotten your Melvyl/PsycInfo
password?
Week 2

Proverb & PsycInfo Lab Assignment
- Review APA grammar exercise 2
- In-class Project data collection (data for partial papers)
- Theory development (in small groups)
- Review APA style for the Introduction using sample paper (focus on
conceptual linkage in the intro)
- Write multiple choice test questions for chp 1 & 2
- Review theory for in-class project focusing on experimenter
expectations
- Discuss title page, abstract, introduction & reference formats. NOTE
that References will now be required for partial paper #1
- Write multiple choice test questions for chps 1,2,6,7
- Finish proverb & PsycLit abstract exercise
- Define topics for final projects, small groups, psycLit searching
Week 4
Week 5
- APA write-up #1 (Title page, abstract, introduction) due
in the lab you are registered in
- Write multiple choice test questions
Week 6
- APA write-up #2 due in the lab you are registered in
- Write multiple choice test questions
Week 7
- FOCUS on implementing final project!!
- Discuss specifics of final project data collection!
- MAY go over midterm
Week 8
- Go over midterm
- Go over your PP2
- Review your final project plans; some will start analyzing results.
- Write multiple choice test questions for Chapters 10 and 3.
Week 9
- Discuss results from your various in-class project
- 21 Logical
Fallacies
- Try earning EXTRA CREDIT for research examples of logical fallacies
- Write multiple choice test questions for Chapters 11 and 4.
Week 10
- Discuss results from your various in-class project
Finals Week
- Final Project paper due on Tuesday, March 24 by 4 p.m. You must
turn in all background information you have regarding your project.
Failure to do this will result in massive regret on your part.
- Final Exam on Thursday, March 26 (11:30 - 2:30)
