Dresses of 1822 from Journal des Dames et des Modes

	1822, plate no. 2063. The waist-line has already begun to drop towards a more natural one. The heavy braiding on the blue redingote is in the military style. The bonnet is fairly deep and made of white straw. It is decorated with flowers, ribbon, and feathers. The Elizabethan ruff is still popular, but it is fuller now and extends out further from the neck. A white cashmere shawl covers the lady's shoulders.

Evening Dress, 1822, made of a white cashmere shawl. The mirror is used to show the viewer the back of the headdress, a turban trimmed with feathers. The lady plays a lute, posed elegantly on a sofa.

Evening Dress of silk in Mackenzie tartan. A white tucker is tucked in front and above the sleeves, held down by pearl loops. Twisted satin trims the sleeves and the hem of the skirt. The lady wears an emerald and gold necklace. Her headdress is of braided satin with pearl and feather trim.

Court dress. This court dress is of pale blue silver lame over a blue satin slip with silver and blue trim. Silver roses are the focus of the trim along the bottom of the slip and train.
