About the Petit Courrier des Dames ...

This journal was later called the Petit Courrier des Dames, Journal des Modes; it was published in Paris. The volumes run from January to July and from July to December. The issues are numbered consecutively and come out on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and last day of the month. There is usually one plate per issue although a one or two issues each month may have two plates. In 1828 and 1829, each month six plates of women's fashion were included, one of men's fashion, and one of hair styles and bonnets. The plates are numbered independently of the issues and are usually labelled "Modes de Paris." The plates give the address of the journal and a brief description of the fashions. If the fashion is available at a particular store, the address is given. The name of the hair stylist is also usually given as well.
