APA Monitor (September 2003): The issue's Education section features an article on how the "Higher-Ed Movement Aims to Elevate Teaching." Our high school student, Summer Fellow has now achieved finalist status in the 57th annual Westinghouse Science Talent Search.

APA Monitor (August 1997): The APA Monitor's Education section included "Educators call for adding more research to classes" by Bridget Murray. The article presents Curt Burgess' views on the relationship between research and education and features a photo of Dr. Burgess with undergraduate student, Tien Vo.

Press Enterprise (March 1997): The Article, "UCR rising to the fore as research facility" reports on UCR's excellent ranking as a research university in a recent study. The article also quotes Dr. Burgess regarding the issue of research as it relates to education.

Independent (January 8, 1997): The Corona-Norco newspaper, Independent, published "Corona teen key in science research" by Kelli Cottrell. The article features Ann Kromski and her award winning language research project that she pursued in our lab.

The Press Enterprise (November 16, 1996): The Riverside newspaper published "Student explores language mysteries" by Stan Paul. The article features Ann Kromsky, the 15 year old high school student, who, working as a Summer Fellow in our lab, achieved finalist status in the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Student Research Program sponsored by the U.S. Army and Navy.

Fiat Lux (March 1996): Recent lab research was described in the article, "The Mind and Language: Making Sense out of Ambiguity," by Susan Sullivan (volume 6, no. 2, p. 5). Fiat Lux is published bimonthly by the University of California, Riverside.

Highlander (January 30, 1996): The University of California's Highlander published "Proudly Introducing, UCR's 1/2 Million Dollar Man" by Deja Knecht. The article features the $500,000 Presidential Faculty Fellow awarded to Dr. Curt Burgess.

The Press Enterprise (October 1, 1995): The Riverside newspaper printed "Peering at the mind's secrets through windows of the soul" by Feliz Sanchez. The article discussed lab research using the eye tracker and featured a photo of our director, Curt Burgess.

Rochester Review (Spring-Summer 1995): The magazine, published by the University of Rochester, featured lab research in the article "What Do You Mean by That?" by Denise Bolger Kovnat, Sally Parker, and Kathy Quinn Thomas.

APA Monitor (May 1995): The Monitor's People section comments on the Presidential faculty fellow awarded Curt Burgess by President Clinton and the National Science Foundation.

The Press Enterprise (May 3, 1995): The Riverside newspaper printed "Master Your Memory" by Gordon Johnson as their lead article in the Living section. The article discussed lab research on memory and featured a photo of our director, Curt Burgess.

Gather/Scatter (January-March 1995): The newsletter of the San Diego Supercomputer Center, published "President Clinton names SDSC researcher Curt Burgess as Presidential Faculty Fellow" (volume 11, no. 1, p. 10).

Fiat Lux (November 1994): Fiat Lux published an article by Susan Sullivan discussing our eye-tracking procedure entitled "Clinton Honors UCR Researcher: Cited for Pioneering Work in Language Comprehension." (volume 4, no. 6, p. 4).

The Press Enterprise (April 11, 1994): The Riverside paper published "Quick, read this now--before you forget" by Holly Ocasio Remy. The article discussed our lab's memory research.
